Privacy Policy

This notice describes the current Usuals website preview. Usuals is a project exploring how club regulars can welcome newcomers. Questions about this site or your information can be sent to info@usuals.club.

1. The landing, the guest questions and sign-in

The front page stores a random identifier in your browser and records which of its pages that identifier reached, including each of the guest questions, so we can see where readers stop. The identifier is not linked to a name, an email or an account, and is used for nothing else. If you scratch the cover picture, the browser remembers what you uncovered so it can show it again; that too stays in your browser.

Choosing to find your welcome asks six short questions. Until the last one, your answers stay in this browser’s local storage on this device. At the last step you give your first and last name, date of birth, email, phone number and the languages you speak, and confirm the email through sign-in by email code. Your answers are then saved to your account and removed from the browser: the scene and appearance you chose, your story if you wrote one, the atmosphere words you picked (including any of your own), the activities you picked, your city and week, and an optional note to the team. We use them to suggest clubs and plans; your story is used only to suggest activities. Your own atmosphere words stay on your account and are never added to a shared list.

Choosing to be the welcome asks seven short questions and publishes a plan. Until the last step your answers stay in this browser; any photo you add is held in memory only and is uploaded after you sign in. Your plan’s title, invitation, dates, city and area, category, atmosphere words, meeting languages, and the host’s name, photo and topics are public with the plan. The exact address you give is stored on the plan and shown only to you and to people who have said they are going. A category you name yourself is reviewed before it is shown. Your private story is saved to your account as described above and is never shown with the plan.

2. Contacting us directly

If you email info@usuals.club or message @usuals.club on Instagram, your message and the contact details supplied by that service reach the recipient through that channel. We use correspondence to respond to your request and continue the conversation you initiated. Please avoid including passwords, payment details or other sensitive information.

3. Site delivery and technical information

Delivering this website requires the hosting infrastructure to receive network information such as your IP address, requested page and browser details. Hosting and access services may process technical logs or session information to deliver the site, manage access and protect their systems. Their processing is subject to their own applicable notices and service terms.

The Usuals page code does not include advertising pixels or third-party analytics. Photos, illustrations and fonts are served with the site.

If you choose a light or dark appearance, that choice is stored in your browser on this device so the site can honour it on your next visit. It is not sent to us, is not used to identify you, and is removed when you clear this site’s browser data.

4. Sharing and external services

Front-page reading records are not sold and are not shared with advertisers. Direct email and Instagram correspondence uses those providers’ systems. Following an external link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices. This notice does not control those services.

5. Retention and your choices

You can explore the site without completing a form. For correspondence you have sent to us, and for your account and the answers saved to it, email info@usuals.club to request access, correction or deletion. Requests will be considered under applicable requirements; information may need to be retained to resolve an outstanding matter or meet a legal obligation. Provider-held technical records follow the provider’s retention rules.

6. Children and security

This preview is intended for adults. Do not send a child’s personal information. If you believe such information has reached us, contact us so we can address it. No internet communication is guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Future changes

Before enabling messaging, payments or additional data collection, we will update this notice to describe the operator, information flows and applicable choices. The date above identifies the current version.
